Maria Beseghi is an Italian former professional dancer, who has been working in the field of dance for many years – first as a ballet dancer, and since 2018 as a teacher. At the age of 16, she moved from her home country to pursue a professional dance education in Munich, Germany at the “Hochschule fur Musik und Theater”.  There she completed her dance education and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Art degree. Straight after her graduation from Munich, she started working as a full-time professional dancer in various companies in Europe: Finnish National Ballet, Zurich Ballet (Switzerland), Northern Ballet (England), and Staatsoper Hannover (Germany).

In autumn 2018 she transitioned into teaching, which has become her passion and main profession. ’I love that I can guide and help my students, sharing with them the passion for this beautiful art form. In my classes we focus on technique and correct alignment, musicality, movement and performing qualities. Together with the students, I am working to create an atmosphere where everyone feels at ease and is motivated to learn. ”

In addition to teaching ballet Maria is also a certified Mat Pilates instructor (Helsinki, Somatic Studio 2021) and this summer she will be graduating as a maternity fitness coach at the ÄitIysliikunta Akademia. With her knowledge of ballet combined with expertise in pilates and pre- and post-natal training, she will be introducing a new ballet class designed for our school, “aikuiset-vauva baletti”.

Maria´s classes are mainly held in English, but she understands Finnish and can also speak basic Finnish when needed.
