House is an energetic and creative street dance style that emerged in the 1980s from the club scenes of Chicago and New York, evolving alongside house music. Its roots reach further back, blending influences from Afro dance, tap, salsa, capoeira, and hip hop.
Classes focus on fast, fluid footwork, smooth body movement, and grounded rhythm known as “bounce.” Freestyle tools are introduced to encourage personal expression. Guided by music and rhythm, house dance is a dynamic way to build coordination, body control, and musicality.
What to wear: Comfortable, flexible dancewear and lightweight indoor sneakers with flexible soles.
