Contemporary/Jazz

These versatile dance classes draw from the dance techniques, movement language and stylistic intricacies of both contemporary dance and jazz dance. The young dancers will learn contemporary dance technique, including floor work, as well as step patterns, rhythms, pirouettes and isolation techniques typical to jazz dance. In dance phrases elements of both the styles will be taken to use as we give in to the joy of dance and music. Improvisation tasks have an important part in the classes providing an opportunity to explore ones own movement and freedom of expression.
