Contemporary

The class introduces the naturalness of movement and expression characteristic of contemporary dance, as well as the discovery of comprehensive, free movement. The classes also explore producing one’s own movement in versatile improvisation-based exercises. In modern dance, the student gets to know the function of their own body as well as the sensuality and expressive power of movement.

The purpose of the rainbow classes is to lower the threshold for young people (from 12 years old) and adults belonging to gender and sexual minorities to start dance. The teachers of the rainbow dance lessons are familiar with the many manifestations of gender and are committed to behaving in a gender-sensitive way in their lessons.

All students can participate in rainbow dance class. The prerequisite for participation is an open-minded attitude towards gender and sexual minorities and a strong commitment to our principles of safer space.

Rainbow students are of course also welcome to all our other classes!
